Russia’s attacks on Kharkiv, Zelensky announces the takeover of some areas

Today’s Russian attacks in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region killed one person and wounded four others, the region’s governor, Oleh Syniehubov, said.

During his speech on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Ukrainian forces had retaken areas near the territory where Russian forces entered during the surprise attack in the region.

Meanwhile, Russian news agency Interfax quoted Russia’s Defense Minister as saying that Moscow’s troops have taken control of the Arkhanhelske area in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.

Also, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian forces are advancing in the Kharkiv region, after repelling two counterattacks by Ukrainian forces.
